We have a client that prints large
quantities fo open edition prints. They brought us a large painting and told us
to copy it at our highest resolution. We copied it and gave them the file.
Unknown to us they then had the same painting copied by one of our competitors
with the same instructions. They then printed small sections of the two files
side by side on one piece of fine art paper (they own a high resolution large
format printer). The images are approx 3" samples from a 30"x40"
piece of original art. This was the result:
(We have this piece on display in our
studio. It is a large file and may take a minute to load)
You will probably have to scroll around a bit.
If you can't tell the difference then our level of quality may
not matter to you. A lot of businesses in our line of work want to talk about
mega pixels and what equipment they use. If you want to know we will be happy to
tell you about our camera system. Do you really care about all that or do you
just want reproductions of your work that you can put directly on top of your
original and see no difference? Whether it is quantity open-limited editions or
one copy for your archival purposes. If you have a run of say 100 and only want
10 now, will your next 10 look like the first 2 months from now? Yes, they will.
If you don't see an output listed that you are interested in, call us, and if
we don't offer the service we will either find someone you can trust or we will
find a way to do it ourselves.
