"Danielle" by Charles Young Walls 2004
A well known artist we have worked with for several years, produces limited reproductions from files we create for him. Different shops across the country have tried repeatedly to get him to use their services to no avail due to inability to capture his art with the same quality as we provide. Another artist working with us for the first time called to say that the file we gave her was so good the publisher picked it to use for the cover image for an upcoming art show. There are numerous artists and galleries who will gladly speak to you about our performance. {Sample image}
DCH works with artists and galleries providing copy & print services of their art for reproduction or archival and has been doing high resolution digital fine art reproduction since 1998. Prior to digital every piece of art was shot on 8x10 transparency. I can tell you without a doubt that the quality today is so far superior it is nothing short of amazing! If you have been told by someone that they can copy your art exactly and then print an exact reproduction but come up short of your expectations, give us a call. I hear this time and time again from artist and galleries who come to us for copy services. How many times have you seen the lack of quality in reproductions at galleries you attend? Most of our clients have been referred to us because of the quality we consistantly give them. Reproducing exact color and clarity in a large enough file size for large print output is no easy task. This is why we are sought out by artists looking to replicate their work. We use a specialized lighting system and camera system to capture the color and detail so close to the original that you will love it. We never use an automated process or flatbed scanner. The conventional ways photographers and labs use to capture original paintings and most artwork simply will not reproduce as close to original as we can!
Each piece of art or sculpture is photographed as an individual to bring out all subtle detail. Texture in the surface of your art and depth of varnish, tonal range and color, etc., are the reason mechanical systems cannot reproduce your artwork correctly. This is partially why the pro labs and print shops cannot reproduce the quality most artists desire. Specular highlights, off color in parts of the reproduction, and loss of detail are what we hear almost all artists complain about after they have used a service bureau to reproduce their work. If you have been unhappy with the results you have been getting, contact us to see if we can help you get the results you are looking for.
Copyright infringement is a subject we take seriously and in order to display some images here without infringing on our clients wishes, I am working with some of them in order to show some samples of what DCH Photography Inc. is capable of producing compared to other service bureaus.
